1990 started with the famous and gossiped participation at the San Remo festival of Ray Charles in partnership with Toto Cotugno. It was a huge success and it ended with a long standing-ovation for Ray.
In the summer of 1990 Francesco Sanavio organized the Italian tour of Prince. After two shows Prince left Italy and didn’t attend the other concerts already scheduled, dishonoring the contract. Sanavio sued him and after 8 years won the lawsuit against the artist bound to refund the promoter for the cachet and the interests of the missed concerts, for a total amount of almost 2 millions dollars that he is still waiting to collect.
In October 1990 was the time of the British artist Lisa Stansfield, who came to Italy for the first time after the success of “All Around The World”.
In 1991 at the San Remo Festival Sanavio was the promoter of another talked combination between Renato Zero and Grace Jones who did an amazing performance.
That year he organized the Italian tour of the famous rock band Fleetwood Mac.
In 1992 he was the promoter in charge to provide all the artists for the Expo in Genova opening ceremony in May. Among the acts there were Ligabue, Matt Bianco, Philip Glass, Sarah Jane Morris and Emerson Lake & Palmer with who he also did the Italian date of their World Tour at the Arena in Verona.
Always in 1992 he did one of the latest Italian tour with Barry White and and brought the SNAP! in the most popular disco club around Italy.
From 1992 until 2000 he toured Italy almost every summer with BB King, Ray Charles and James Brown. Memorable James Brown concert at the Cala di Volpe Gala in 1998, while Ray Charles did the unforgettable performance during the Ferragamo fashion show in 1997.
In 1993 he booked for the Mediaset TV Show “Moda Mare Portofino” Grace Jones.
In 1994 during the Football World Championship in the USA, the FIFA hosted the “Festa Azzurra” party to celebrate the Italian football team at the Madison Square Garden in New York City and Francesco Sanavio booked for that event Ray Charles.
In 1995 with his partner Tony Tasinato he organized the Franton Jazz Festival in Jesolo Lido near Venice and in 1997 he did the tour in Italy with the great Liza Minelli completely sold out.
