DEVO American rock band formed in 1972 by the couple of brothers Mothersbaughs and Casales with Alan Myers hit the charts in 1980 with the single “Whip It” featured in the album “Freedom of Choice” along with two other famous songs and videos “Girl U Want” and “Gates of Steel”. They were also pioneer on releasing one of the first video music thus reaching great exposure on the newborn MTV.
DEVO toured Italy with Francesco Sanavio in 1980 and in 1981. During the “Freedom of Choice” world tour in 1980 the band used to performed in front of large custom light boxes which could be laid on their back to form a second, smaller stage during the second half of the set.
